For as long as I can remember I have loved animals and nature. So I have finally gotten around to writing some books about a range of different creatures.
If your kids love animals and learning lots of fun information about them then you may want to have a look at these simple to read books full of many color animal photos.
I began with my first set of books in the “Aussie Flora and Fauna Series” and wrote about a lot of different Australian animals. The first book covered 12 Aussie Birds and then I went on to look at 12 Aussie Mammals in the second book.
The following books looked at Aussie Reptiles, Insects and Arachnids, Venomous Animals and Marine Life that lives in the Great Barrier Reef.
I began this series by looking at the amazing and beautiful Poison Dart Frogs that can be found in Central and South America.
The second book in this series covered Nudibranchs and Sea Slugs that can be found in oceans all around the world. Many of the people who purchased this Sea Slug book wrote that they loved the book and they never knew of these colorful sea animals before reading this book! To me that is inspiring and brings me joy knowing that I am sharing these beautiful creatures with my readers.
More books are being written at the moment and will be released over the coming weeks. So keep your ears and eyes open.

I was recently talking with a friend who does not believe at all in God and some of the things she said got me thinking. Then when I was chatting with the Lord today a thought came to my mind…
What if I got to the end of my life only to find that God truly is not real! Would I wish that I could go back in time and change my life and live differently or change my beliefs?
I thought about it for a few moments and then smiled as I said to the Lord in prayer, “No Abba, I wouldn’t change anything. The years that I have spent in relationship with You have been too precious. If my belief in You turned out to be untrue then I still know that I have lived a fulfilling life where I knew many blessings each day and saw many answers to my prayers.”
No! I would not wish to change anything or to live my life differently if God ends up being not real!
It is funny because there is no way that I know of to explain my relationship with the Lord with a person who does not even believe that He exists. Yet I know, beyond doubt, that He is real! He does live and interact with me each and every day. He loves me and is with me all of the time, regardless of my actions or behaviour.
The God who spoke the world into existence means so very much to me and is the very foundation of my life and existence!
He has proven Himself to be faithful each day and in every circumstance that I find myself in.
Over the 25 plus years since I gave the Lord my life and asked Him to be my Messiah and Saviour I have come to know Him in so many different ways. I feel like I have still only just glimpsed a small amount of His character and who He is. Like a diamond that shines and glimmers with different colours and intensity depending on the angle of viewing, so it is with my precious Lord. He is so awesome and truly amazing that I want to spend eternity getting to know Him more and more!
To me my Lord is:
My very best friend,
my Heavenly Father,
my Abba (Hebrew for Daddy),
my ever-present companion,
Like gravity exists without us being able to see it, so I know without any shadow of a doubt that God not only exists, but He wants us to know Him. And not just know Him as a special occasion God or as a weekend God at church or synagogue, but He wants each of His creation to know Him intimately. The Lord wants each of us to grow daily in our knowledge of Him, not as head-knowledge, but rather as revelation and heart-knowledge.
I find that as each day and week passes, I catch new glimpses and insights into God’s heart and character. He is so amazingly huge and powerful and yet at the same time He is so enormously loving and gracious to those who turn their lives and hearts over to Him!
His heart and desire is to bless and to see us bless others! His heart is for peace and reconciliation. His plan for each of us is to give us a future and a hope!
I am sitting here writing this with a smile on my face, because I feel like the most blessed and privileged person in the world because I know the Lord who created heaven and earth and He is my best friend!
No! I would not change a thing about my beliefs or relationship with God, except to grow in my understanding and knowledge of who He is and of His Amazing Grace and Unconditional love for every human being on this planet!
I know that one day soon I will see Him face to face and oh what a day that will be! Tears and joy all mingled as one as I run up to Him and worship Him with my whole being.
“Thank you, Abba for the privilege of knowing You. May I know You more and more each day and may You grant that others see You in me, even in my many weaknesses! I love you, Abba!”

If the planets can worship and praise Him then let us also join with them to exalt His wonderful name.
We can add our voices too with the rest of God’s creation and tell Him how much we love Him!
Happy New Year 2012! Don’t ask me where 2011 went to, because I have no idea! Anyway, welcome to 2012!
As we begin this New Year, my prayer is that it will be kinder to each of us than what last year was.
I was reading about Helen Keller and heard that she once said, “Security is a myth. The reason that we do not experience security is that it does not really exist. Avoiding failure and danger in the long run is actually no safer than out right risk itself! Life is either a daring adventure or it is nothing at all!”
I must say that I disagree with one point and that is I do believe that we can find security and peace in the Lord. But if we look for security in this world around us and in other people, then I fully agree with Helen.
So with what Helen Keller said in mind I encourage you to begin 2012 with a plan set out for what you want to achieve and where you want to head towards this year. It never ceases to amaze me how quickly time passes us by. So take time out right now, at the start of the year, to sit down and write down your plan and your goals for 2012 and how you are going to achieve them.
Break your plan down into simple, achievable steps that you can celebrate along the way as each one is accomplished.
Then as Helen Keller said, dare to really live, dare to take some risks and see things change for the better in your life. When you do this it may surprise you, but it will not only be your life that changes, but also the lives of those around you.
I know that God has a plan for each of us and I encourage you to spend some time in His presence. Seek His face and His plan for you and your family in 2012. I know that you will be glad that you took this time out of your busy schedule. Then write down this plan, either on physical paper or on your iPad, smart phone or computer.
I wish you and your family all the very best for a happy, safe, blessed and health-filled 2012! Happy New Year!
I really enjoyed the movie, “The Help” when I saw it recently at the cinema with my mum.
During this last week I was just thinking about life and the challenges and blessings that continue to come into our lives. As I was pondering these things the movie “The Help” and what Aibileen Clark (played by Viola Davis) said to young Mae Mobley Leefolt (played by the Eleanor Henry and Emma Henry twins) came to my mind.
Aibileen learned early on in her career as a Nanny and housekeeper that she had a gift to empower the young children that she was looking after and responsible for each day.
“The Help” Movie
If you have seen “The Help” movie then you may already be aware of what Aibileen said to Mae Mobley.
With little Mae Mobley sitting on her lap, Aibileen, lovingly looked at this young girl and said, “You is Smart, You is Kind, You is Important!“
I got to thinking about this and the true power that these simple words have in the lives of others. I see Aibileen as a truly wise woman. She knew that each of us has the power to lift others up and to empower them to really be all that they can possibly be in life!
How powerful is this truth?
Can Our Words Empower Others?
I know that when I stop and look back over the years of my life, I see that it was during the periods when I had others who believed in me that I was really at my best.
I realize that each of us needs to come to a place where we can believe in ourselves and encourage ourselves when things become difficult or challenging, but at the same time I also believe that it begins by us having someone else believing in us and sharing their belief and encouragement with us.
In fact, I would say that I believe that most people at one time or another in their life need to have friends or family who lift them up and encourage them.
I believe that it is empowering to use words to those around us, such as what Aibileen lovingly spoke to Mae Mobley in the film.
So often life and the circumstances of life can be draining and if we are not careful then we can become discouraged and feel down or even depressed. But when we have positive people in our world, who speak words of life to us, then we can easily move past the difficult times and be an overcomer in life!
I seek to be an encourager of others and to look for qualities that I can use to empower them. When I see others struggle, I love to be able to look for the positives in the situation and to focus on these rather than the difficulties.
Is The Glass Half Full or Half Empty?
I guess the old adage about the glass being half full rather than half empty is what I am getting at here.
Each of us has things in our life that we struggle with in one form or another, but if we can learn to believe in ourselves and to believe in others then we can really live a life that empowers others.
I know that this is my main goal in life, to Empower, to Believe in, to Encourage, to Lift up others and to see them live lives of fullness and blessing to, not only themselves, but also to others.
Pay it Forward – Help Others When They Can’t Help Themselves
It is like the “Pay it Forward” concept.
Once we believe in ourselves (and also as we are learning to believe in ourselves!) we can show other people in our world that we do indeed believe in them and that they also can believe in themselves!
What a different world we would live in if each of us could find a person each day to bless, encourage and lift up!
I encourage you even today to go and find someone who you can impart life to. Find someone who you can empower with your words and actions. Find someone, just as Aibileen did in “The Help” film, and speak words of life, words such as “You is Kind, You is Smart, You is Important!“
